Afterwards, young adult participants are welcome to connect over dinner and drinks at a nearby pub/restaurant.

What's going to happen there ?

When young adults arrive around 7 p.m., there will be opportunities to meet other US young adults in Madrid for WYD.

After networking and mingling, we will hear from Seattle Archbishop J. Peter Sartain (pictured right, with the Holy Father this past June) who will have the opportunity to speak with those present.

The young adults will also have the chance to dialogue with the Archbishop (and any other bishops, archbishops, and cardinals who might be present that night at the event) about the Church, about their Catholic faith, about their peers in the United States (those active and inactive in the practice of their Catholicism), and about the World Youth Day experience that week.

The night will conclude with music from Catholic performing artists like John Angotti - and have more time for meeting and connecting with one another. Young adults are welcome to stay at the Palacido de Deportes, head over to the various WYD festivals and events that evening, or carry on their conversations at one of the nearby establishments in the Salamanca district.

ARE YOU COMING TO MADRID?

NCYAMA seeks to connect all the dioceses, parishes, college campuses, and Catholic organizations across America who are bringing young adults (18 to 35) to World Youth Day.

If you are bringing a group of young adults to Spain, we would like to know.

CONNECT WITH US: Email info@ncyama.org or call Executive Director Paul Jarzembowski at (815) 834-4047 to be put on a national list of church leaders bringing young adults to Madrid.

Throughout the next year, NCYAMA will provide some resources on ways to prepare and travel with young adults - and places for young adults to connect while in Spain in 2011. We look forward to connecting with you and meeting you for WYD 2011.
