Who are Young Adults?
Young Adults are those in their late teens (18+), twenties and thirties. They are a generation represented in the popular media by the letters X and Y. They are one of the most diverse generations ever.
Why a specific ministry to them?
Because of their diversity and the times in which they live, many young adults are seekers. They are much more open to experiencing other religions and faiths. The US Bishops decided to create this specific ministry to help Connect young adults with Jesus Christ, The Church, the Mission of the Church, and with each other.
What is NCYAMA?
NCYAMA is an organization supporting those who minister to and with single and married people in their late teens, twenties and thirties. We develop and promote programs and resources while providing opportunities for networking and communication. We advocate for the full integration of young adults in the life of the Catholic faith community in order to connect them with Jesus, the Church, the mission of the Church and their peers.
When was NCYAMA founded?
NCYAMA was founded in 1982 as a means to connect those involved in ministry to young adults and was administered by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.
Who are NCYAMA Members?
Any Organization or person in Parish, Campus, or Diocesan ministry to and with young adults and that pay the annual dues at whatever level they can afford.
