NCYAMA Collaborative Pojects

A National Voice for Young Adult Ministry in the Church

Since 1982, the National Catholic Young Adult Ministry Association has been collaborating with organizations and ministry networks around the country in an effort to move the Catholic community into the fullest realization of a Post-Vatican II Church. In all these conversations, NCYAMA has been the voice of the field - and proudly continues in that role today.

Our organization has been a part of several great collaborative projects over the years including but certainly not limited to:

  • The development, consultation, and writing of the 1996 USCCB document, Sons and Daughters of the Light: A Pastoral Plan for Young Adult Ministry
  • The preparation, co-sponsorship, and execution of the Primer Encuentro Nacional de Pastoral Juvenil Hispana (PENPJH, also known as the "Encuentro"), culminating in a 2006 national gathering at the University of Notre Dame.
  • The planning, execution, and follow-up to the Emerging Models of Pastoral Leadership Project and the first phases's major culmination at the 2008 National Ministry Summit in Orlando, Flordia, as well as its continued development in a successful book series from Loyola Press and the second ongoing phase of findings.
