In an incredibly busy society where young adults are always on the go – either commuting in traffic, spending long hours at work, on the treadmill working out, or running to and from activities, events, and other commitments – how do we minister to a Catholic population of men and women in their 20s or 30s that just aren’t in our pews?

Crossover the Digital Divide

The language of the Gen X and Millenial Generation is digital - from wireless to downloads, from the internet to the blogosphere - so we must ask ourselves whether or not we are preaching the gospel message in a language they truly relate to.  Media and technology give us the tools to minister in this virtual world.

Come Learn the Lingo

The 2007 National Young Adult Ministry Leadership Forum seeks to equip parish, campus, and diocesan leaders with digital tools, including:

  • Podcasting for Beginners
  • Social Networking via the internet and blogging
  • Using Media in your Ministry to evangelize and connect with those in their 20s and 30s.

New York, New York

What better place to have an open discussion on virtual ministry than the communications hub of the United States.  We hope you will take time to learn from the professionals, invest in your ministry development, and share with others in the field of Young Adult Ministry.  Join ministry professionals from across the country engaged in the same work as you to:

  • Hear about and share the best practices in young adult ministry
  • Get programming and outreach ideas
  • Find spiritual and professional support networks for the great work you do.

Testimonials

"The NCYAMA Forum is a fantastic place to network with other leaders of young adult ministry (YAM). In addition to discussing the issues that face us in YAM, we can borrow ideas for programs, resources and services. I also like learning from those serving the young Church at various levels -- parish, clusters, diocese, organizations, and national. Each of the four NCYAMA Forums I have participated have benefited my local ministries as I have returned with practical ideas and a deeper understanding of young adult ministry."

-- Cindee Case, Director Youth and Young Adult Ministry (OY&YAM)

    Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio

“This was my first time attending the NCYAMA forum, and I greatly enjoyed meeting and networking with others involved in young adult ministry.  The exchange of ideas was helpful and I received a lot of useful information.  I would encourage anyone who works in young adult ministry to take advantage of this opportunity!”

-- Mandy Dillon, Pastoral Associate, Church of the Holy Spirit,

    Schaumburg, Illinois

Optional Activities
